Speaking Drive by Compass Publishing is a four-level speaking series for young EFL learners at elementary to middle school levels (CEFR Pre-A1 to B1). Each level builds practical speaking confidence through themed units, 500 new headwords per book, and integrated audio resources via SoundCloud. First published around 2013, it’s an ideal resource for developing speaking fluency in young learners.
Each book in the series focuses on a separate skill. This allows students to concentrate on the necessary techniques and strategies typically related to developing that skill area and improving skill-related scores on standardized tests of English for that particular skill. Each level of the series targets 500 different headwords so that students completing all four levels will be able to study 2,000 different headwords. Used together, the books provide a complete learning experience for developing students’ English language abilities across the four fundamental skill areas.
